Milestone Class Reunions

We appreciate your interest in University of Galway and are committed to assisting you in your reunion planning. Thank you for giving your time and energy to your class reunion. By giving back to your alma mater, you are helping shape the strategic direction of the University by strengthening the connections of your fellow alumni and friends.

Why Reunions are Important

Year after year, alumni return to campus to mark a milestone of the time since their college days.

Reunion Organisers: Who Will Be Coordinating This Event?

A successful reunion depends on a dedicated committee of volunteers like you who will start planning early and share in the coordination and promotion of the reunion.  We can email details of your reunion to your class and even arrange for them to RSVP you directly if they choose. For this email to your class, please send us some copy and we will create the communication. We can also promote your event on our social platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Campus tour

For a trip down memory lane, we offer complimentary guided campus tours. Please find details of our campus tours here  with a student ambassador who will accompany you and guide the tour. The tour usually takes approx. 1 hour and the meeting place can be under the archway at the Aula Maxima or in Smokey’s café on Concourse.

<>Venue

Should you wish to have a light lunch on campus, please contact us at alumni@nuigalway.ie with details of your requirements. There are a few options for your lunch in the Aula Maxima (which needs to be organised through the Alumni office) or in the ‘Corrib Room’ in the Sult College Bar, which is more accessible and available for private parties during term time.

Keynote Speaker

Although some alumni events include a featured speaker or a Panel Discussion, it’s not a necessary component of a great event but it does act as an incentive for increased attendance. Some examples for this would be a discussion around the changes and innovations in medicine or engineering over the past 40 or 50 years and to include some current University of Galway students to discuss what they are learning today. We are happy to help or advise on this so please contact us for more information.

Video/Slideshow

Ask your fellow classmates to submit old graduation or college photos to be compiled into a slideshow or video that will be shown during the reunion. We are happy to ask the Library Archives to extract photos for you. Yearbooks are another source for gathering photos for reunion events.
